When it looks like this, you know it means business

There are so many enjoyable ways to learn about reducing waste.

We all have our own approach. Some of us gather up a load of things and donate them to charity, or pass them on to friends and family.

Others find themselves holding onto things they genuinely love but have no idea what to do with. Things they often spent a good deal of money on.

Then there are all those odds and ends left over from craft projects, the dress we meant to repair but never quite got around to, and so on.

In our botanical embroidery workshop, we take these random bits and bobs and turn them into something useful. It's all about giving them a new lease of life. A leftover piece of thick fabric becomes the perfect book cover. We learn different stitches, so everyone goes home with their own unique piece, and the fabric never ends up in the textiles recycling bag, because we've found another purpose for it.

It's all about sharing ideas and discovering new ways to repurpose and reuse before we recycle or throw away.

Join us at the next session. We'll keep making useful things and challenging ourselves.

Do you have fabric scraps you don't know what to do with? Come along to one of our sessions and feel inspired!
