How we look after your details

The short version: we only keep what we need to help you, we don't share it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are

This website is run by the Natural Gardeners Club (The London Garden), a volunteer community group in Waltham Forest, London. You can contact us through the form on our Contact page or on 07951 794181.

Digital support registrations

When you register for digital support we keep: your name, phone number, area, which place suits you, when you're free, what you'd like help with, whether you're a Clarion or Priory Court resident, how you'd like to be contacted, and your email address if you give it.

We use these details only to arrange and run your sessions, and to count how many people we've helped (in numbers only) when we report to the people who fund the sessions. We'll contact you the way you choose. We might phone you if you've told us WhatsApp is hard for you.

Only the volunteers who arrange the sessions can see your details. They're kept on a secure online service with a private link. We never sell them or share them with anyone else, and we don't use them for marketing.

We delete registrations 12 months after your last session, or sooner if you ask.

Sewing sign-ups

When you register interest in sewing we keep: your name, phone number, who is coming, which days suit you, how you'd like to be contacted, and your area and question if you give them. We use them only to arrange sewing sessions and to answer your question, and we delete them 12 months after your last session, or sooner if you ask.

Other forms on this website

We sometimes add other forms, for example to sign up for an event or a group, to register interest, or to give feedback. Each form says what it's for, and keeps only the answers you give on it.

We use those answers only for what the form is for, and to get in touch with you about it. Only the people who run the club can see them. They're kept on the same secure online service, and we never sell them or share them with anyone else.

We delete them when they're no longer needed: at the latest 12 months after the event, group or activity ends, or sooner if you ask.

Your account

You can join for free on our account page, so our forms fill in your details for you. We keep your name, email address and password (scrambled, so nobody can read it), and only the other details you choose to save: your phone number, address or postcode, and an emergency contact. When you send one of our forms while signed in, it can update those saved details, unless you untick the box on the form.

Only the people who run the club can see your account. We never sell it or share it with anyone else. You can change your details or delete your account yourself at any time on the account page, and it's gone straight away. Answers you've already sent on our forms stay with those forms, as above.

If you turn on notifications for the message boards of your workshops, we keep the address your phone's browser gives us for sending them (from Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on your phone). The notification itself carries no message: your phone fetches it from our website when it arrives. Turn them off on the account page, and the address is deleted.

Emails

If you tick "Email me" in your account, we email you two things only: your link to sign a form when your place is confirmed, and the address and directions the evening before a workshop you signed up for. No newsletters, and nothing else. Untick it in your account at any time and they stop.

The emails are sent for us by Resend, an email service, which gets your name, your email address and the email itself to deliver it. It keeps them in its records for a short time, under its own privacy policy. We don't track whether you open them or click their links. If you reply, your reply comes to us.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you at any time. Just email or message us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't run analytics on you. Our fonts are stored on our own site, so loading a page doesn't send your details to anyone else.

If you join, we keep you signed in on that phone or computer with a cookie that only does that, until you sign out.

To keep robots from filling in our forms, the forms use Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks your browser when a form is on the page, without cookies for tracking or advertising, and most people never see it. Cloudflare looks after what it checks under its own privacy policy.
